Our Favorite Fiction!

We adore a great fiction book! Great fiction sometimes tells more truth about life than non-fiction easily can.

Because we believe that Christians are repenting people (and not perfect people), we don't appreciate books that present Christians as people do nothing but "perfect" things and thinking nothing but "perfect" thoughts. We think that such books not only fail to tell the truth about life, but they may not inspire the kind of valor that is needed to live life successfully.

Virtue is not the human default; living a godly life is the greatest of perilous quests.

We take very seriously the Bible's admonitions against witchcraft, but we feel convinced in our own hearts that Hansel and Gretel did not encounter that kind of witch.

We believe that in order to see how the world works--that men reap what they sow and be sorry for their sins--that good books can include bad characters who do bad things.

We also believe that sometimes violence is a part of godly virtue.

Not everyone will share these opinions, so we offer the following list of some of our favorites with parental pre-reading recommended.
