Paul and Valerie Jacobsen began homeschooling the first of their eleven children in 1994. When they contemplated buying a standard curriculum, they couldn't bring themselves to do it. Most of what was available was dry, boring, and unappealing. The search for homeschooling materials for their own children began a wonderful journey collecting, using, and--within that very first year--selling wonderful books to other homeschooling families.
Since 1995, valerieslivingbooks.com been supplying books and information for homeschooling families around the world. In 2006, Paul's job outside the home was no longer needed. With Paul and Valerie working together on a full-time basis, the business now carries a much broader selection of technical and specialty non-fiction as well as rare books.
